A wedding celebration, Irish step dancers, and real live American war heroes on the South Shore. The service was at St. Xavier in Weymouth, and the reception was held at the Red Lion Inn, Cohasset. Hello everyone. After a short break, I am back with another wedding. Sarah and Randy were married at the Fuller Craft Museum. A really fun and funky contemporary museum that hosts weddings and receptions south of Boston. AnnMarie was a fabulous event co-ordinator, and the reception site has a full service kitchen and catering. The museum is nestled in the woods right on top of porter pond which makes a lovely setting for photos. On Sunday Kelley and Charles were married at Bathing Beach in Hingham, MA. Their reception took place at the Barker Tavern in Scituate. The weather was with us for the outdoor ceremony and the formal photographs. Right down the street from Barker Tavern is the Scituate Lighthouse at Cedar point where some of the formals were taken. The gardens at the reception site include a small waterfall and lots of beautiful flowers, so we took advantage of that for a few more portraits. Robyn and RJ were married on Friday at Saint Mary's Church of Wrentham MA, and the reception site was The Lakeview Pavillion in Foxboro. The Lakeview Pavillion has beautifully landscaped grounds that are designed specifically for your wedding photographs. The hall is elegantly decorated creating a stylish and unique background for all your reception events. And they do a fantastic job serving delicious food quickly to all your guests. Sunday I had the pleasure of photographing Michelle and Jay's engagement photography session. Their parents have purchased a beautiful frame and signature mat for their wedding which I am shooting in September. So now they need an awesome 5x7 portrait to display for the signature mat. They chose to do their photographs outdoors at Lynch Park in Beverly, MA. This is a great location to take pictures, as it has a beautifully manicured rose garden right next to the sea. The following are a few of my favorites photos from the day.

Well she is not really new new, she is 7 months old in this pic and weighs about 21 lbs.
But cute right? I brought our new pup home in January this year as a surprise for my wife. Don't worry, we had been talking for months, and decided to get a Beagle and even gone to visit a few of the cute little guys. I picked her up in South Easton at a breeder. Paid cash, and drove her home sleeping on my lap the whole way. When Kate greeted us at the door, she said, "she looks like a Clementine". And that's how she got her name.

Charles and Ceazari Wedding Photography Preview

Saturday I photographed the Wedding of Charles and Ceazari. After being together for 6 years, these two were able to fly in from Texas to be married in Massachusetts. The ceremony and reception were very intimate, with their mothers and a just a few friends in attendance. During the ceremony they incorporated the custom of broom jumping, which apparently dates back to slavery when slaves were prohibited from marrying.

The ceremony was performed in the Boston Public Gardens were we had perfect weather for photographs. Traveling by horse drawn carriage via Newbury St. we got lots of cheers and well wishes from passers-by.

The reception was at Vlora Restaurant on Boylston St. Vlora is a fine dining restaurant with a Northern Mediterranean Inspired Menu. They had a really cool watermelon and feta appetizer. The whole day was organized by Rhonda Harrison, owner of Extraordinary-Wedding.com. Charles and Ceazari and their friends were all really fun and welcoming as you can tell from all the laughing in the photographs. Please enjoy this preview. Last Sunday, I photographed the wedding of Rachel and William. The couple were married at the Stowe Acres Country Club in Stowe MA. It was a civil ceremony that incorporated a few religious traditions that made it unique for Rachel and Wlliam. The happy couple were surrounded by family and friends on this special day. Last Weekend I photographed an Albanian Wedding. Ernola and Dennis were married Saturday in an Albanian Orthodox Service. This was a very energetic group and a very pretty bride as you will see from the photos. They were married at St. George Cathedral, an Albanian Church in South Boston. Their formals were taken in the Boston Public Gardens. The reception site was the Tirrell Room in Quincy, MA. I do a lot of weddings on the South Shore, and I am at the Tirrell Room at least once every year. They have made a lot of changes recently, and are adding another ball room. Ernola's Hair and Make-Up were done by Melt on Newbury St.

A Preview for Megan & Austin

On Saturday (yesterday at the time of this writing) I had the pleasure of photographing Megan and Austin's wedding at the Andover Country Club in Andover, MA. They are such a beautiful couple; the bride in particular has striking blue eyes. I could tell that a lot of thought and love went into planning their wedding. They were very cooperative and allowed me to get some great images that I hope they will enjoy for many years.

The day started at the Spa ni'joli & salon in Methuen, MA where the gracious and talented staff prepared make-up and hair for the bride, her mom, and bridesmaids. That morning, the groom had a gorgeous diamond watch delivered to his bride to be. The story is that, months earlier, Austin had noticed Megan's reaction when she first saw it, and had been planning the surprise since then.

As I got to know Katie, Danielle, Natalie, and Jen (aka The Bridesmaids) I knew this was going to be a fun group. And they were all very enthusiastic about getting great photographs for the bride and groom. The ceremony was at Saint Williams Church in Tewksbury, MA and was a beautiful service.

When we arrived at the Andover Country Club, we were running a little late, but the staff, especially the event manager, Tracy Pacy, could not have been more gracious or accommodating. An ideal wedding reception site, the Country Club has a beautifully landscaped garden with lots of different photo opportunities. I have posted some of my early favorites from the day. Hi all. What a great time everyone had at Alli and Bree’s wedding. You were all so fun to work with. The bride and groom are truly blessed to have such good friends and family around them. Their joy was evident through every image I captured. I am really excited to share some of the photographs with you now. The Stonehurst Mansion in Waltham is one of my most favorite reception sites. The mansion was built in the late 1800’s. The grounds were designed by famed Landscape Architect Frederick Law Olmstead who was responsible for the Esplanade and the Arboretum in Boston, as well as Central Park in New York. So everywhere you look outside there is a gorgeous landscape to photograph. The house was designed and constructed by Henry Hobson Richardson who also designed Trinity Church. The mansion is filled with beautiful old oak and stone and tons of great architectural details – including a grand staircase that makes for awesome group photos. (http://www.stonehurstwaltham.org/.) The chocolate covered Oreo cookies were really great.

Engagement Photography Maryclaire and Michael

Veteran’s Park is a lovely little park at the corner of 139 and 3A in Marshfield, MA. It is one of my favorite places to photograph, and is showing some really great spring colors right now. For their engagement photography session, Maryclaire and Michael wanted to include Michael’s daughter and two boys.
So it was part engagement photography session, and part family portrait session.
It is always fun photographing kids since they are so easy to make laugh and get some really natural smiles and genuine reactions.

Maryclaire and Michael are planning their wedding in the fall at the Indian Pond Country Club Reception Site in Kingston, MA. I hope you all enjoy these engagement photos. I cannot wait until their wedding!

Alicia and Aharon May 2, 2009

This weekend Alicia and Aharon were married at the Radisson in Chelmsford. I have known Alicia’s family for almost 2 years now; I photographed Alicia’s Sister Stacey and brother-in-law Brian’s wedding in 2007 (some of their wedding photography is in my online portfolio.) Stacey and Brian were the maid of honor and best man, so it was fun to see them again, too. Stacey and Alicia’s father informed me that after photographing both of his daughters’ weddings, I am now the “official family photographer.”

The bride and groom added some great personal touches to their wedding. Alicia was inspired by Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City to wear shoes by Manolo Blahnik - she confessed they cost more than the dress. Aharon, who works at Berklee College of Music in Boston, is an accomplished drummer. He demonstrated this during the cocktail hour, when he sat in with the jazz trio for an impromptu jam session.

The Radisson in Chelmsford is a lovely reception site for a wedding, with a grand staircase well suited for photography. The banquet staff and the wedding director, June Wellington, kept the event running smoothly. And the music and dancing was again facilitated by Ernie Houle of Locomotion DJ (see last weeks’ wedding). He and I just keep running into each other at weddings in the Merrimack Valley.

All in all, everyone had a great time and it was wonderful to see these two married. They are such a wonderful couple.

Jim and Megan of Dracut were married in a beautiful wedding ceremony at the West Chelmsford United Methodist Church. Their reception took place at the Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, NH. I had a wonderful time photographing these two as they both had a fun sense of humor, and the bride in particular had a great sense of style. The time and effort they put into planning their wedding, assisted by Leslie from Planned Perfectly, showed through in the details.
From the fabulous red shoes and sunglasses Megan wore, to the school bus they had decorated to transport the bridal party, Jim and Megan infused their wedding with their own personalities. Sky Meadows Country Club was a great choice for a reception site. They host only one wedding at a time, have a landscaped bridal garden for formals, and their event manager, Sue, provided me and the wedding couple with golf carts so we could quickly get to the best place to capture the sunset. http://www.skymeadow.com/.

Leslie of Planned Perfectly Event Planning, http://www.plannedperfectly.net/, really helped the day go smoothly and stay on schedule with great organizational skills and attention to detail. According to the bride and groom, hiring a wedding planner made the whole day less stressful.

When the Groom hired Locomotion DJ for their wedding reception, he happened to mention that he was a huge Rush fan, so when the bride and groom walked out to cut the cake, DJ Ernie Houle played a little snippet of Rush “Limelight”. What a great surprise and a great example of a wedding vendor who listens. I have worked with Ernie on many occasions, and he is a real pro.

Semple Wedding April 18, 2008

I had the pleasure of photographing Mathew and Melissa’s wedding Saturday April 18. These two were really fun to photograph and had a great sense of humor. Matthew is in the Navy and will be deploying soon. His groomsmen made quite a picture as they were all in their dress blues. Wedding days are always highly emotional, but this day was punctuated by the fact it was the first time Mr. and Mrs. Semple had seen their three sons, all military men, together in 5 years.
Melissa and Matthew chose the romantic Monponsett Inn in Halifax, MA because of its convenient location, service, and great view. The Inn is situated on a picturesque lake and has a Gazeebo and beautifully manicured grounds for formal wedding photography. Below are a few of the images I made from the day, beginning with the preparations of hair and make-up to the last dance.

Spring Bridal Show at the Granite Rose

This past weekend was the spring bridal show at the Granite Rose (http://www.graniterose.com/) in Hampstead NH. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Hampstead, it is right off of rte 111 - just a quick drive from either Nashua or Salem.

Even though it is not far off the beaten path, the Granite Rose is in a quiet secluded area. A beautiful event center that is both elegant and rustic with lots of windows to enjoy the view. It also has a wrap-around deck and a gazebo for formal photos. The landscaping was beautiful and will make a great backdrop for outdoor photos. The photo below is from their website:

The inside is beautiful too, they keep it up very nicely and it has a large main room (The Embassy Room) with two built-in bars and plenty of room to accommodate different seating arrangements. The color scheme was pink and light green, which is the wedding colors of many of my spring brides. There is a smaller room downstairs which I didn’t have a chance to see. One thing that stood out to me were the chairs; they were noticeably nicer than most function facilities and very comfortable – you wouldn’t need chair covers for these. Also, the staff members I had a chance to talk to were very friendly, helpful and professional.

It was great to meet all the brides-to-be and to check out the other vendors. A vendor I hadn’t seen before was a dance studio that teaches pole dancing – and they had a live demonstration set up right in front of my booth! The more daring brides can check them out at http://www.polebliss.com/.

Going to the shows just reminds me of what a great way it is for brides to check out so many different vendors all in one place. They can hear the DJs, see real flower arrangements, taste the wedding cakes, and even catch a bridal fashion show, all in a couple of hours. It is a great time-saver and a fun way to spend an evening or an afternoon. They also get a chance to meet the vendors in person, which is such an important aspect of choosing the professionals you are trusting to make your day perfect. So get out and go to some!

Bridal Shows

Last night I participated at the "New England Bride" bridal show at the Radisson Hotel in Nashua. It is a great place for pictures as it resembles a castle with fantastic brick archways in the main lobby. We had a great turnout and made some appointments.
